I’m teaching Introduction to Web Design for Artists this fall at MICA. It’s a subject that I hold near and dear to my heart because it exists at the intersection of tool making and hand coding websites. It’s a tension between making website builders so that anyone can express themselves regardless of technical ability and learning how to hand-code a website from scratch.
As artist’s so many of our digital tools are built by tech companies and handed to us. It leads us to constantly shape our practices to their whims without agency of how are produce and distribute our work. Even if you don’t want to incorporate web design into your wider practice, it’s nice to have a digital place to call your own. That’s what I think a website can be.

Sounds About Riso
I’ll be exhibiting some of my older prints in NYC at Sounds About Riso 4.0
Sounds About Riso started as a showcase + market in 2019 that turned into a virtual event in 2020-- exhibiting risograph works by artists and publishers across North America. Through sharing a diverse set of risograph works, we hope visitors from around the world can discover and, if able, shop prints, zines, and books in support of the individual artists, printmakers, & local risograph community.
Tentatively, the event is at USAGI in DUMBO NYC from Sept 22 to Oct 2. Check it out if you’re around as they’ll be tons of amazing artists
goodgraphics.js v0.17.0 - I added the HTML scripting functionality that existed in hypertextscriptinglanguage into this library. Kinda feels like I feed one child to another.
